Cranstons newest Food Hall at Brampton greeted its 75,000th customer this week following a strong initial six months of trading, selling over 6 miles of the company’s famous Cumberland Sausage and over 25,000 pies! The aim is now to sell enough of the much-loved sausage to reach the company’s birthplace in the Eden village of Kirkoswald over the next six months, a distance of 13 miles.
Manager Mark Mallinson says, ‘The new Food Hall has gone from strength to strength and we’ve received lots of positive feedback from both new customers and those that used to shop with us when we had the smaller shop over the road. We were surprised to learn of the amount of pies and Cumberland Sausage we’ve sold this year already - no wonder we’ve been busy!’
Managing Director Philip Cranston said, ‘We are passionate about championing quality local produce and are pleased that the Food Hall concept has been so well-received in the town, bringing customers an expanded range of products as well as our much-loved meat lines. Mark and his team have done an excellent job of providing excellent customer service and making the new Food Hall a success. Of course, our Cumberland Sausage always sells well –with a bit of help we might even get home by Christmas!’
The 2,000 square foot Food Hall showcases local produce at its best, offering quality beef, pork and lamb from trusted local farms, freshly baked pies and bread, imported wines and local ales and produce from over twenty local producers as well as a well-stocked delicatessen, hot breakfast and lunch counter and a self-serve salad bar.
