Cranstons Café Oswald’s launched a special chocolate orange cake at the start of March in aid of Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland’s ‘Go Orange’ appeal.
The cake is on sale throughout March, and £1 from each slice sold will be donated to Hospice at Home.
The cake’s launch coincided with the Dalemain Marmalade Festival on 2nd and 3rd March and is the brainchild of Café Oswald’s baker Julie Simpson, who bakes the café’s delicious cakes and traybakes.
Oswald’s Head Chef Nick King said, ‘We have supported Hospice at Home for several years and are happy to be able to participate in their Go Orange appeal, which raises much-needed funds.
‘Café Oswald’s laid-back atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy a slice of this fantastic cake with a cup of coffee.’
Hospice at Home’s annual ‘Go Orange’ Appeal helps raise awareness and vital funds from Cumbria and beyond. Local initiatives include citrus-themed products, and events such as coffee mornings and cocktail parties.
