Cranstons has partnered with Eden Brewery, one of Cumbria's newest breweries, to celebrate a major milestone.
Eden Brewery, which is based in Brougham Hall, near Penrith, has produced a special Centenary Ale which will be on sale as part of Cranstons celebrations. The Centenary Ale is light golden in colour, very refreshing and brewed with the classic UK Cascade hop which provides thirst quenching citrus and light floral characteristics.
Along with the centenary ale Cranstons will be celebrating its 100 years in business throughout the summer with a series of celebratory promotions and events.
Philip Cranston, Cranstons Managing Director, said: ''Cranstons are delighted to team up with Eden Brewery to create this special ale in celebration of our 100th year of trading. Throughout our history we have had a proud tradition of working with passionate and skilled local producers. We feel very fortunate to be part of a thriving food and drink industry in the Eden Valley and Cumbria and it is just wonderful that we are able to stock produce from 40 Cumbrian suppliers in our food halls."
Eden Brewery, which began production in March 2012, has made a name for itself with its highly popular beers Eden Gold, Eden Best, Eden Fuggle and First Emperor.
Brewer Jason Hill said: "Cranstons is one of the best known names in Cumbria when it comes to quality produce and food and we are really proud to team up with them to help chalk up their century.
"Over the last hundred years they have played a key part in demonstrating how Cumbria is home to some of the best food and drink in the world and I hope our association with them reflects the pride and effort we put into our own work."
The Centenary Ale will be available from Cranstons two food halls in Penrith and Orton Grange all year.
