Cranstons Quality Butchers are supporting local charity Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland this festive season.
Last week, Cranstons Christmas Preview evening raised £2,100 for the Hospice, surpassing the £1,800 raised last year. On the evening, Managing Director Philip Cranston announced Cranstons plans to raise further monies for the charity, pledging to donate 15p from every pack of Cranstons three varieties of luxury sausagemeats sold this Christmas.
The Christmas Charity Preview Evening was held on 15th November at the Cumbrian Food Hall in Penrith, and celebrated local festive produce. The event was a great success, with over 220 people in attendance. All ticket, raffle and bar proceeds were donated to Hospice at Home.
Penrith Queen Elizabeth Grammar School choir sang Christmas carols as guests were greeted with hot mince pies and mulled wine, and local suppliers Eden Brewery, Taste of Eden Ice Cream, The Fish Cellar, James Fruit & Vegetables, Border Traybakes, Country Puddings, The Toffee Shop and Saunders Chocolates were on hand to chat to people about their products and offer ‘tasters’.
Throughout the evening a series of cookery and butchery demonstrations and wine tastings took place, helping people plan their Christmas entertaining.
Cranstons have now launched the second phase of their fund-raising drive, a 15p donation from every pack of Cranstons three varieties of luxury sausagemeats sold this festive season. Customers can choose from Plum, Apple & Sultana, Cranberry & Orange, or Chestnut, Apple & Smoked Bacon sausagemeats.
Sheila Thompson, Hospice at Home Charity Director, said, ‘It is only with the help and support of our local community that we can continue to provide vital care to patients at the end stages of life in North and East Cumbria. We are very grateful to Cranstons for organising this superb event and to their customers for helping to raise such a fantastic sum of money.’
Speaking after the event, Philip Cranston said, ‘We were pleased to be able to support Hospice at Home once again this year through our Charity Preview Night, and delighted that we managed to raise £300 more than last year. Our valued customers are always keen to support our Christmas fundraising drive, and we are set to far exceed the total amount raised last year.’
Cranstons luxury sausagemeats will be on sale at the Cumbrian Food Hall and in Cranstons four traditional butcher’s shops from Tuesday 4th December.
