Cranstons have raised £4,760 for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland this festive season through a series of fund-raising activities, smashing the total of £2,670 raised last year.
An initial donation of £2,300 was raised at Cranstons Christmas Charity Preview Evening, which was held on Thursday 21st November at the Cumbrian Food Hall in Penrith.
The event attracted 230 people, with all ticket and raffle proceeds going to the Hospice. Attendees enjoyed cookery and butchery demonstrations, free tasters and the opportunity to talk with Cranstons local suppliers.
A further £1,600 was raised through a second charity night held in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Carlisle at the firm’s new Orton Grange Food Hall near Carlisle. A donation from every Pork Pie sold over the Christmas period plus the proceeds from a staff raffle also contributed to the final amount.
Managing Director Philip Cranston said, ‘We were delighted to be able to raise such a large sum of money for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland this year. It is through the hard work of our staff, customers and suppliers that it has been possible to raise these much-needed funds.’
Charity Director Sheila Thompson said, ‘We are very grateful to Cranstons and would like to thank Philip and Roger, their staff teams and customers for their continued support of this vital local Charity.’
