Cranstons raises funds for Hospice at Home's Go Orange Appeal

Eden butchers Cranstons have relaunched their Cumberland with Jane’s Marmalade Sausage to raise money for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland’s Go Orange Appeal.

Cranstons will donate 50p for every 1kg of the Cumberland with Marmalade sausage sold until the 15th April. The appeal runs alongside the Penrith Goes Orange Marmalade Festival and the World’s Original Marmalade Awards held at Dalemain.

The flavourful sausage combines Cranstons’ famous Cumberland Sausage with Dalemain’s Jane’s Marmalade- Jane Hasell-McCosh’s own recipe. Cranstons is renowned for its award-winning Cumberland Sausage which has a weighty texture and unique spice blend – ideal for coupling with Jane’s Marmalade.

The Dalemain Marmalade Festival will take place on 17th and 18th March. On the Saturday Penrith will play host to an Artisan Market, as well as a special guest appearance from the biggest fan of marmalade, Paddington Bear.

Cranstons will be hosting a marmalade themed sampling session at our Cumbrian Food Hall on Friday 16th, and Saturday 17th March.

In addition to the marmalade sausage, Cranstons sells Dalemain’s range of fine marmalades in their foodhalls, such as Bishop’s Marmalade, George’s Seville Orange Marmalade, and Kitchen Garden Marmalade.

Rob McManus, Assistant Manager at Cranstons Cumbrian Food Hall said: “The Cumberland with Jane’s Marmalade sausage has proven to be popular over the last two years, so we’ve brought it back for the third year in a row. We love working with other local producers to create quirky flavoured products and to be able to tie this in with a great local event and fundraising is even better.”
