Cranstons have been shortlisted in the ‘Retailer of the Year’ category of the Cumbria Tourism Awards, beating strong competition from a range of exceptional businesses from across the county. The majority of the winners from the awards will go on to represent the county at the Visit England Awards for Excellence in 2017.
The awards, now in their fourteenth year, celebrate the huge range and diversity of Cumbria’s tourism industry and are open to a whole range of tourism-related businesses including retailers, hotels, B&Bs, holiday parks, pubs, visitor attractions, events, businesses and tourism staff.
Managing Director Philip Cranston said, ‘Here at Cranstons we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and our distinctly Cumbrian heritage, so it’s fantastic to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. I believe our commitment to preserving traditional butchery craft skills, providing quality locally-sourced products and excellent customer service makes us stand out from the crowd and hope that this is recognised in the finals!’
Cranstons, Low Sizergh Barn and Grasmere Gingerbread will now be visited by a mystery shopper to decide who will be crowned ‘Retailer of the Year’. The winner will be announced at a black tie award ceremony on Wednesday 22nd June at Cartmel Racecourse. To find out more about the Cumbria Tourism Awards visit www.cumbriatourism.org/awards
