Cranstons Quality Butchers of Penrith clinched runners up awards in the UK final of the Butchers Q Guild 2016 Barbecue Competition.
After winning the North-West regional heat with their Rib Eye Steak and Topside and Cheddar Burger, which was crowned the North-West Regional Speciality Burger, Cranstons were invited to compete in the national final against a host of Q Guild Butchers.
Cranstons beef is matured for 21 days in a specially built maturation chiller. The process results in a well marbled, succulent cut and the Rib Eye Steak is no exception. The Topside and Cheddar Burger launched in Summer 2015 and was instantly popular.
Cranstons products were up against more than 400 barbecue products during the competition.
The Q Guild represents over 110 award-winning butchers from across the United Kingdom.
The Q Guild’s national chairman, Alnwick Butcher Mark Turnbull said: “The BBQ Competition saw an extremely high standard of entries and was fiercely fought out between all finalists.
“I would like to offer hearty congratulations to all those who succeeded in making it to the finals, as winning a regional event is in itself no easy feat. “
