Café Oswald’s at Cranstons Cumbrian Food Hall on Ullswater Road, Penrith is hosting a six week exhibition of work from local artist Kayleigh Richardson which will run for another week and a half.
Kayleigh, who’s from Shap, has been drawing the local landscapes from a young age before developing her painting skills during her A-levels and college.
She takes her inspiration from the Lakeland landscape after having grown up in the Lake District as well as being inspired by her travels across South East Asia and Northern Africa where she worked with local artists using native materials and techniques to vary her work.
Kayleigh graduated from York St John University with a degree in Fine Art in 2014, and moved back to Shap to continue her practice and produce work on commission.
The current exhibition in Café Oswald’s has received high praise from customers during the Easter holidays, commenting on the colourful nature of the paintings and drawings. The exhibition comes to a close on Wednesday 10th May – all images are available to purchase.
