Masterchef 'The Professionals' finalist John Calton cooks up Cranstons Lamb

Cranstons Hexham shop is proud to supply The Duke of Wellington Inn, Newton, Tyne Valley with our top quality Northumbrian beef and lamb. Head Chef John Calton who last year made the final of Masterchef ‘The Professionals’ kindly agreed to provide Cranstons customers with the recipe for one of his mouth-watering lamb dishes.

Its been a busy year for John Calton, head chef at the Duke of Wellington Inn. Back in November John made it through to the final of the BBC’s hit cookery competition Masterchef ‘The Professionals,’ narrowly missing out on the title. Since then the Duke of Wellington’s stylish but comfortable restaurant has been busy with customers keen to sample
some of Johns culinary excellence.

Under the guidance of Michel Roux, John cooked up a
storm throughout the series using Northumbrian produce, including fresh beef and lamb from Cranstons Hexham shop. John regularly places orders with Nick Collins, Hexham shop manager as he trusts the quality of the meat;
