MP Owen Paterson visits Cafe Oswald's

Owen Paterson MP, the new Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs visited Cranstons Café Oswald’s on Wednesday 12th September as the last stop on his Cumbrian visit to launch the Government’s Rural Statement, which highlights how investment in rural businesses can create a sustainable rural economy.

On his tour he visited the Fibre Garden Community Broadband project in Garsdale in the morning, and gave a speech at the Local Government Association’s rural conference at Windermere.

He then visited the Lakes Free Range Egg Company at Stainton, before finishing his visit by having afternoon tea at Cranstons Café Oswald’s, giving an opportunity for members of Penrith’s business community to speak with the Minister.
