Regional finalists in the Rural Business Awards!

We've been named as a regional finalist in the 2018/19 Rural Business Awards! The awards celebrate the best of rural industry up and down the UK.

We are in the running for the Best Rural Food Business of the Northern counties. The North covers a geographical area from Scotland to as far south as Lincolnshire.

The awards - sponsored by Amazon, aim to acknowledge and celebrate the vital contributions to the development and success of the rural sector by companies as well as to give recognition to excellence in business set-up, operation and management.

Philip Cranston, Managing Director of Cranstons said: “I am delighted that we have made it through to the regional finals of the Rural Business Awards. To even be recognised at this stage for teh role we play bringing rural produce to market is fantastic. We are proud to be one of the first places in teh region to stock products from new and upcoming producers, as well as our long standing relationship with rurasl and farming communities here in Cumbria and around Hexham."

Cranstons Cumbrian Food Hall is the company’s flagship store in Penrith, while the company has a further three Food Halls across rural Cumbria as well as two traditional butchers shops in Penrith and Hexham.

The Food Halls stock produce from over 50 Cumbrian suppliers as well as their own butchery and deli ranges created using prime beef, pork and lamb from the region’s finest stocksmen. We are one of 12 Cumbrian businesses who have been shortlisted for various categories including our friends at Country Puddings, Kin Vodka and Hawshead Relish.

The Rural Business Awards were established in 2014 by Jemma Clifford and Anna Price – two business owners who work in rural Leicestershire. The first Awards were presented in October 2015 and the RBAs are now entering their 4th year with Amazon as their head partners in 2018.

The Cranstons team will find out if they’ve won at an awards dinner on Tuesday 9th October 2018 at the Last Drop Village, Bolton. Regional winners will be invited to a final which will crown national winners of each category.
